Friends - New and Old

I've been so blessed with friends in my life. I was just looking through recent photos from this month and wanted to post them. They are a great collaboration of my old and new friends. God gives us people no matter what stage or season of life we are in. :) This makes me happy.
Old Friends...
We had a competition this past weekend in Nashville, TN. This picture is from driving through the mountains of Asheville on the way. I was able to see my old friend Ryan while visiting. We met my sophomore year at State and have been friends ever since. Good to see him while he's out in music land!

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because Katie and Pallie always come to visit. Katie is in Charlotte October through New Years and when Pal comes to town we all try and get together. This was one of our infamous dinners at Monterrey Mexican. It all spills out, the stories of the past year... over the chips and dip.

New Friends...
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Lake Park Festival with Rebecca, Casey, Colin, Elisha and my sister Carrie. We ate, painted pumpkins, and took really funny pictures! Casey, Rebecca and Colin.

Me and Elisha Casey liked this classic car. There were lots of them at the festival.
Scott and Kristi's birthday bash! We got a group together and went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Scott and Kristi's birthdays are only a few weeks apart, so we celebrated them together.

Fish on Land

I was telling my friend Kristi the other day that we sordof feel like Fish on Land. Out of place, awkward, and not sure what we are supposed to do to survive. Our lives have been a whirlwind since...well...awhile. We left the church Adam was on staff with Easter Sunday. Since then, we have been praying and asking God what and where we are supposed to do next. Move to Charlotte, move to Wilmington, move to somewhere a church hires us. Do we look for church positions or look for secular jobs...do we look for student ministry jobs or another type of ministry? Do we sell or rent our house? What are we supposed to do? The answer to these questions are not yet decided. We have had some contacts for jobs but nothing has come through yet. We think we might want to move to Wilmington if we can find something. We pray every night asking God that we stay in His will. Knowing all along that what His will might be is that we just trust in Him and be patient. Trusting that He will provide. That H

I think I offend people

Truth: I think I offend people. Some people just get on my nerves. While I realize this is not a "godly woman" kind of comment...sometimes that is how I react to people. I get annoyed when people speak condescendingly to me. I get annoyed when others question my word. I get annoyed when people lie. I get annoyed when people try to tell what they are learning from the Lord to others as though that is what THEY should be learning at that exact same season of life. These things...ugh. I get annoyed when people who have kids talk to people who don't have kids like they are stupid or ignorant. Same goes with married people and single people. I cannot be the only person that struggles with this. And I try really hard to filter what I say...so usually I'm only thinking that I'm annoyed but occasionally it pops right out of my mouth before I have time to catch it.
