Ugh.

That is all. Just Ugh. Ugh to Jamfest for making my job extremely difficult. Ugh to Fannie May for not letting me get a loan yet.

What in the world...

...is going on? In the past couple of weeks, the world's largest banks have been in a state of turmoil, and will continue to be. Why? ARMs....really stupid people getting really stupid loans (in Ginny terms), and really stupid banks allowing them to do so. Why? Because we are greedy people living in a sinful world. People like to live above their means. Banks want to make as much money off of greedy people because the people running the banks are greedy. I was just sitting here today thinking of the recent sell of Wachovia to CitiGroup and what a mess it is. How many people in my city, Charlotte, are going to lose their jobs. How many people in the Southeast are going to lose their jobs. Thus, reinforcing the recession we are sliding into oh so fast. So, my thought is, how can I not contribute to the recession? How can I not allow this to affect me and therefore allow me to be a functioning member of society and help our economy instead of hurt it? I'm the type of person who re

A day in the life at Cheersport

We got our schedules a few weeks ago for the upcoming season. For those of you reading who don't know much about competitive cheerleading - lucky you - but here's a bit of insight into what I do. I am the 'voice' of the office. When the phone rings it comes to me. Today I have had several calls asking me about yellow wristbands for our six flags competition. They are free, and all you have to do is pick one up at the Cheersport booth at the entrance to six flags when you get there. However, this is how the conversation goes: Me - Cheersport, This is Ginny cheer person on the other line - Hi, I have a question about Six Flags Me - Yes, how can I help you? them - Well, I was wanting to buy regular admittance tickets for six flags but then I read that I need a wristband. Me - Yes, you will need to pick up a wristband at the entrance to Six Flags, they are free. them - are you sure they are free? because I don't want to get up there with my sister and then get jipped.

1st Day of Fall and God likes yellow

Look around you today while you're driving down the road. God loves yellow. Who knew? :) I don't have any pictures to prove it just yet, but he does. Yellow flowers are all around us and somehow I have never noticed it before. They grow wild all down the street I drive to work on. When I was in the mountains last the yellow flowers were everywhere. Yesterday I saw a ton of them too. Pretty, yellow flowers. It excites me because right now everything is green still. The leaves haven't started to change, it's the last drop of summer and the first step into fall. And God made yellow flowers to announce it all. When my sister and I were driving to my great-grandparents lake house on Saturday for my Papaw Davis's 90th birthday, everytime I saw the yellowness, I poked her and said "yellow!" Haha.... Yellow!

One of "those" days.

Everyone has one of "those" days. Or one of "those" moods. Today has been one for me. Trying to stay positive and peppy. The phone here in the office has started to ring off the hook. I'm concerned because we only have 6 teams registered for Columbus (my territory) and only 6 days left for teams to register. I hope it's not a sign of things to come for our company this year. Who knows with the economy the way it is, what we're going to do. Usually parents still try and keep their kids in sports, but our issue is the coaches willingness to travel. Who knows? We have the Pursuit tonight at church, and I'm excited about it. I'm looking forward to our hometeam starting back up. Kristi and I have some pretty good ideas for this fall. She's so great to work with too...I pray all the girls come back and get to know Jesus even better! And... Vote McCain. For the love people.

Nostalgia.

Mr. McCullough wrote a nice blog about nostalgia, so thought I would do the same. I kinda woke up thinking about it, because when I heard my non-alarm (cell phone on vibrate) go off, it was raining outside and my room was dark and I thought "I should stay in bed til the rain stops". But, I didn't. Work and my paycheck calls. Last night I did Zumba with Kristi and when we came out of the church there was that wet grass at dusk smell. Dusk is my favorite time of the day. When I was little, it was when mom would yell for us to come inside from playing. I grew up going to Badin Lake, and it's still my favorite place in the world. At dusk, the water would be still as glass. Occasionally a boat would come into our cove where my papaw's house was and then the sound of the waves hitting the shore or causing the boat to rock against the pier, it was so relaxing. Dusk was when my dad, brother, sister, and I would get our fishing rods and go down and sit on the dock and try

Last weekend, Sept 6 I went to Raleigh to spend time with some friends. We went to Sushi on Friday night with Shae, Taylor, Rebecca and Joel. After sushi, we rented "What Happens in Vegas"...in the pouring down rain Hurricane coming off the coast. Saturday, we met everyone at Cloos - my most favorite place to eat! It's got great fries, the 'good' ice, and the best slider ever! They also have chicken gyros, hot dogs....oh, just trust me, if you make it to Raleigh, you'll want to eat here! In this photo is Shelly, Shae, Lindsay, Rebecca, Taylor and myself. Beautiful. Cloos. Morgan got us some pretty amazing tickets to the game, thank you Morgan! I love football. :) Our amazing FRONT row tickets! GO WOLFPACK!

Praise the Lord, O My Soul, Praise the Lord!

In the midst of trying to purchase the house in Calabash from my grandparents, they generously gave me money to pay off my existing debt. I got confirmation this morning that the check went through and now I am free from that debt! Such a huge burden lifted from me! Thank you Lord for loving, kind and generous grandparents!!

Alaska. The Last Frontier Part 1

This is where we slept for 9 nights. All 6 of us. On our way to Seward on our first day to go dog-sledding. In the dog sled. This was an experience never to forget haha. They train the dogs in the summer on carts like these through the woods so they gain strength for the winter. Some scenery on the way back from Seward. Not believing the prices of the value menus! Shopping downtown Anchorage. Had to take the picture with the moose, cause I never saw a real one! 4 wheelers. They drive these everywhere. Even to Carr's, the local grocery store. Literally, they drive these everywhere. Alaskan sunset. Hannah and I at our first camp at South Anchorage High School. The JV. Me at Dani's house, took a picture with the Caribou after I ate Moose for dinner. Yep. This is how they entertain Toddlers in Alaska. :) Us with the Denali Allstars. The fabulous Cheersport instructors! AND...I've still got it. Haha.

Alaskan King Crab. It was unbelieveable. I'd go back just for the food. The girls in the restaurant after dinner. Can you imagine seeing that bear in the woods? This was Danielle and I's adventure trip...we got off the road, went down to a boat access, took a picture, saw bear prints and ran back to the car. Leon and his boys took us hiking up to Thunderbird Falls. Some of the cutest kids ever. Some serious pressure coming off that fall. At this point I am standing with one foot in the water. The boys and their dad. I'm really really high up in this photo. The cheerleaders from Palmer High School. On the drive from Palmer to Wasilla. I couldn't resist pulling over. Dani's (middle) family took us fishing. We had to get our own Alaskan Fishing licenses. Before the sunset. At sunset. I LOVE FISHING. See. More scenery...it was beautiful. I love how the clouds cover part of the mountain here. They were so tall, the picture can't fully explain.

I drove down to Soldotna to go pick up the girls that were teaching at a high school there. These are some of the pics I took along the way. The water coming off the mountains in the lakes, is crystal clear. Like what you see in the Caribbean. Beautiful beach. Me, and yeah, the water was a little chilly! This shot is off the inlet, that goes out to the Gulf of Alaska, that leads to the Pacific. It was near the town of Soldotna. The mountains in the background are still volcanic and are a part of the ring of fire. I heart Alaska. This shot is coming down the highway on the Kenai Peninsula on our way back from Soldotna. It was breathtaking. On our way to the airport, we got stuck in a little traffic and this was our view on the side of the road. Have to have one of these pictures in every state I visit...
