July 29 2010 - Move to Charlotte

.....now here's where it gets interesting. During the time of April 4 2009 and let's say...Now, we have been on a roller coaster. Not a smurf one or flinstones, but like...the Viper of roller coasters. Our house has shown a zillion times, but with no offers. Some interest in renting. An agent that was no good. Thankfully now we have a great one. Then we felt the Lord leading us away from Augusta after no luck finding jobs there and it wasn't healthy for us to be there, so we packed it up and moved to Wilmington because we had a place to stay. A few things changed and now...back in Charlotte. We're happy to be here in Charlotte. We have an amazing church (see www.teamchurch.com) and some seriously awesome friends. Wilmington happened because I found a part time job and that was better than no job. Well that, and it was the beach. Who doesn't want to live there? ;) We had hopes of staying there long term but apparently that wasn't in God's plans. We were able to spend time with Nick and Meg and what a blessing it was! I definitely learned a lot from her while we were there. Even couponing! I definitely feel that they may have been one of the reasons we went there. And Bree...she worked at the store with me. She is super sweet and loves the Lord! And...such a fun store to be in!
The Lord has not allowed us to be without income of some sort during this whole process. He also has not allowed us to be without a place to stay. We know we are in His will. We just don't know what's next.
We've debated over churches and secular jobs. Ministry related jobs. Apply to all and wait. We've had some interesting calls about jobs that we thought would work out and then they didn't. We try to decide how much to tell people, to pray for, etc. Do we tell people every time we have an interview or find a new job online that we get excited about? ie: The past job in Wisconsin or the new job we saw with Samaritna's Purse. How Adam would love that job!!! But it's hard to get excited yet and decide how much to share with everyone. So we know God is moving and working, we just can't see the end yet. Not that there is really an end, just somewhere we can land. Establish a home, continue with our Dave Ramsey plan so we can be good stewards of our finances and get out of debt, and eventually start a family.
I have house-sat since 2005 other than our 6 month stint in Augusta where I didn't really decorate because we didn't know how long we would stay. Thus...I cannot wait to decorate SOMETHING! Like, I seriously cannot wait. Just prepare yourselves for blog posts of paint colors and bedding choices. Although, if we get landed somewhere before my pottery barn duvet favorite is out of style or season, I will buy it. You can see that post by clicking on this link.
As I'm sitting in Panera reflecting on all of this, I hope I have not bored you to death :) Promise my next post will be full of photos of fun stuff.
Happy Weekend!

Did NOT know you guys were backing Charlotte. Bummer. I'm thinking about going to Wilmington this weekend and was hoping to see you!

I totally understand where you guys are at though and trying to trust the Lord in spite of a lot of unknowns. Also, right there with you on the "Do we tell people? How do we ask for prayer for this situation...."

The Lord is good in all his ways, and desires growth and good things for you guys. I'm thankful you've maintained a strong witness in this time of uncertainty, and I'm excited to see how things play out!
