Thank you Darius Rucker

I love country music. Not only that but I was utterly, completely obsessed with Hootie and the Blowfish when I was in High School. I went through this brief idiotic period of time when I went to all the USC games and they would perform in the half time shows. The drummer used to play soccer there and I met him one time, can't really remember where...but thought I was the coolest person ever.  I can't tell you how many Hootie concerts I went to. Probably 20. Every time they were anywhere around North or South Carolina, I went. Sometimes they played with Edwin McCain and that was just a bonus. So, when Adam and I were talking about choosing songs for the wedding and reception, I definitely wanted Darius in there somewhere. We put him on the wedding webpage using his song "Alright". When we got to the reception the DJ came up to me and asked me about the last song because I had just emailed him several. I said, let's do "History in the Making" and he said, I thought you'd choose that one. Haha! So, here is the most adorable fun video ever. I love it. I love the old house, the plaid shirts with blue jeans,  the tall grass and the chasing each other around the kitchen. It all makes me smile. Maybe it'll make you smile too.

Fish on Land

I was telling my friend Kristi the other day that we sordof feel like Fish on Land. Out of place, awkward, and not sure what we are supposed to do to survive. Our lives have been a whirlwind since...well...awhile. We left the church Adam was on staff with Easter Sunday. Since then, we have been praying and asking God what and where we are supposed to do next. Move to Charlotte, move to Wilmington, move to somewhere a church hires us. Do we look for church positions or look for secular jobs...do we look for student ministry jobs or another type of ministry? Do we sell or rent our house? What are we supposed to do? The answer to these questions are not yet decided. We have had some contacts for jobs but nothing has come through yet. We think we might want to move to Wilmington if we can find something. We pray every night asking God that we stay in His will. Knowing all along that what His will might be is that we just trust in Him and be patient. Trusting that He will provide. That H

I think I offend people

Truth: I think I offend people. Some people just get on my nerves. While I realize this is not a "godly woman" kind of comment...sometimes that is how I react to people. I get annoyed when people speak condescendingly to me. I get annoyed when others question my word. I get annoyed when people lie. I get annoyed when people try to tell what they are learning from the Lord to others as though that is what THEY should be learning at that exact same season of life. These things...ugh. I get annoyed when people who have kids talk to people who don't have kids like they are stupid or ignorant. Same goes with married people and single people. I cannot be the only person that struggles with this. And I try really hard to filter what I say...so usually I'm only thinking that I'm annoyed but occasionally it pops right out of my mouth before I have time to catch it.
