31st Birthday

Image
Adam and I both turned 31 this week. His birthday is the 9th and mine the 12th. We decided to go out to dinner last night for it. We went to Macaroni Grill and it was yummy. They have Macaroni and Cheese bites. If you ever eat dinner there, I recommend them. They are better than the Fried Macaroni and Cheese from Cheesecake Factory. We meant to take a picture of us out to eat and forgot to...so, sorry about that. But, I took a few pics of the sweet things that others did for me. :) My co-worker Bryn baked two homemade poundcakes and the staff at the church sang to me. It was super sweet! My boss Julie sent me these beautiful sunflowers! She is off on Thursdays which my birthday happened to fall on. My other boss Michele gave me a coupon to go out to lunch in the spring. My co-worker and good friend Julie B gave me this balloon. Many of my co-workers stopped by to say "Happy Birthday", sometimes multiple times :) When I got home from work my brother Greg, who is staying w...

Turning 29!

As I write this post, I thought I'd share with my readers what my 'spot' looks like. Every morning I waddle down the stairs in my pjs, glasses, and slippers (I got new LL Bean slippers for Christmas from Adam, they are super comfy and keep my frigid toes warm). I pour a cup of coffee and then sit here. Adam and I's birthdays are 3 days apart, his the 9th and mine the 12th. On his birthday we went to the theater and saw a movie and then our friend Reagan stopped by. When he realized it was Adam's birthday they invited us over for dinner. So nice! So, we went over to Reagan, Mandy, and Riley's. We brought with us the top of our wedding cake and ate it for our birthdays! I had it made red velvet because it's Adam's favorite. Riley definitely got a little cake on her shoe too! Here are a few pictures of our celebration :) Then on my birthday, Adam brought these home to me at lunch :) Yay for happy bright flowers!

27 + 1

Today, I'm 27 years and 366 days old. I'm 28. I had a great weekend of fun with Shae and a panthers party at the Petko's with most of my cha town friends. Then on Sunday night, I almost had a mid-life crisis but I kept it under control and was able to scrapbook away my anxieties. My thought process went something like this after Shae left on Sunday night.... "It's kinda lonely here, now. Was fun having a friend in town to hang out with. It's only 8pm. What do I do now? I'm normally busy. This is why I keep myself busy because it keeps me from focusing on that I live alone. I house-sit. I don't even have a house or an apartment of my own. I have nothing to show for being 28. All my friends have.... (thank you Holy Spirit for intervening).....I have a great place to live the Lord has provided, I'm not my friends, I'm just me and doing what God has me doing where He has me doing it right now...I'm going to work on my Alaska scrapbook." Sick and tired...but happy

Yep. I'm sick. I have a cold. That I most likely got from Danielle McCall or Thailynn Reynolds in Alaska last week. And I still think I'm not fully recovered from the massive amount of jetlag from a 14 (split up between 3 cities) flight, and a 4 hour time difference. Now - I'm not complaining, just stating that yes, I'm tired. :) Alaska was amazing. A different kind of place for sure than any place in the United States I have been to. In a very small way it can compare to the virgin islands, in the naturalism there and the massive amount of mountains meeting the water. I'll have to post pictures later. And stories, lots of stories. This weekend was Greg's 16th birthday. We had a blast. We had a big party at the house, where we cooked a 115 pound pig, had baked beans, cole slaw, a big tent, and practically a full band between the kids, Scott, and my cousin Lee. We also shot off fireworks. Good ones. My family knows how to throw a party for sure. Scott & Krist...
