Makin' it Home...as we sell it.

I love flowers. I owe this one to two people. Barry Williams and Jewell Alley. My step-dad and my grandfather. When I was younger, middle school and high school aged, Barry would always plant in the spring and the fall. Usually he would plant impatiens in the spring and pansies in the fall to last through the winter. My Senior year of high school he planted red impatiens the spring I got into N.C. State. Across our flower bed it read N C S U in impatiens. It was seriously the coolest thing ever! Last spring Adam's brother gave him a japanese maple, some crepe myrtles, and some knockout rose bushes. These are a few pics of them this spring! Our back yard. The Japanese Maple The Crepe Myrtles that lead up to the open field behind our house Roses all around :) I just love roses! Gotta love Spring!

70 Years of Marriage!

My great grandparents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on March 6, 2010. They have this "house" across the way from their house that we use for parties. It's called "The Christmas House" and year-round, it has a fully decorated Christmas tree. And a red couch of course. Papaw had a huge farm, a bazillion acres, orchards etc. So now, he buys old school trailers and puts them out in the pastures. Why not right.  Papaw still picks flowers and comes around to the front door and rings the doorbell and gives them to Mamaw :)   Adam and I in front of the Christmas House.  Ryder and Papaw.   Ryder and Samantha.  Papaw and Mamaw. The decor :)  Greg and Papaw. Ed cooking his "free range" chickens. Haha. Our friend Rebecca Fish designed the cake and made it. Her website is www.artfishdesign.com   Isn't it pretty?!  Here's to 70 years of marriage! That is incredible! Congratulations Art and Clara :) We love you!

Some things never change

That was the title of the email that my  mom sent me on her birthday. She turned 49 on Tuesday March 30th. She spent her day going through old papers and photos in her office, because that's what she wanted to do. I come by it honest. Here is the body of the email followed by the photos.  ran across these today and thought you might like to see that.... you made your first to do list at 4 you wanted a 3 car garage before they were invented i think and you were telling people what they should (shud) do before you could spell it
